About the role#
Interpro Pipe & Steel is hiring a Mechanical Engineering Co-op student for our Red Deer, Alberta facility. As part of the Tubular Products Group Engineering team, you will support capital investment and facility improvement projects. This role provides an opportunity to contribute to the technical and production requirements of our manufacturing operations.
What you'll do#
- Collaborate with the engineering team to deliver projects on time.
- Support the design and specification of OEM pipe forming and finishing equipment.
- Create and maintain project documentation, including scopes of work, budgets, and schedules.
- Develop mechanical and equipment layout drawings.
- Lead department meetings and prepare minutes.
- Conduct equipment and facility evaluations with guidance from senior staff.
- Assist in writing technical specifications and designing mechanical details.
- Coordinate information and participate in discussions with Project Managers and Engineers.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a Mechanical Engineering degree program at a recognized university.
- Experience with CAD software, specifically Autodesk products like Inventor. Proficiency in AutoCAD is an asset.
- Familiarity with MS Word, Excel, and Project.
- Knowledge of auxiliary mechanical systems in industrial manufacturing.
- Ability to interpret multi-disciplinary plan and profile drawings.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- A self-motivated approach and a desire to learn new skills.
