About the role#
The Optiv Event Internship Program is a paid opportunity for emerging talent to build professional skills while supporting regional marketing activities. You will work with marketing teams to plan, execute, and recap client events and field programs in the Toronto market. This role offers hands-on experience, mentorship, and exposure to career pathways within the cybersecurity industry.
What you'll do#
- Support regional marketing events, customer programs, and community engagement efforts.
- Assist with registration management, guest communications, and event logistics like signage, badges, and materials.
- Provide on-site or virtual support, including guest check-in, room setup, and survey collection.
- Help capture event content such as photos and social media updates.
- Collaborate with marketing, sales, operations, and finance teams to manage event workstreams.
- Maintain accurate records for attendance, budgets, and event recaps.
- Participate in professional development sessions and engage with company mentors.
What you'll need#
- Current university student or early-career professional.
- Studies in marketing, communications, business administration, cybersecurity, or public health.
- Strong organization skills and the ability to manage deadlines and checklists.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills.
- Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office tools, including Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Interest in learning how professional events are planned and executed.
- Ability to lift up to 15 lbs for event materials and stand or walk during off-site events.
- Must be at least 19 years old to meet venue requirements.

- Compensation: $39,400 to $52,300 annually, with potential eligibility for a variable bonus plan.
