About the role#
As a summer 2027 intern with the Construction Materials Testing team, you will support geotechnical testing, construction observation, and inspections. You will work on diverse projects including roadways and bridges while gaining experience with project specifications, construction plans, and building codes.
What you'll do#
- Perform field and laboratory testing on construction materials like soils, concrete, and asphalt.
- Assist with construction observation and special inspections.
- Prepare daily field or laboratory reports and manage project documentation.
- Collaborate with clients, engineers, and contractors to meet project schedules and tolerances.
What you'll need#
- Pursuing a degree in construction management, construction administration, civil engineering, industrial engineering, or a related field.
- Valid driver's license with a good driving history.
- Ability to lift at least 50 pounds.
- Ability to work in varied weather conditions and terrains.
- Strong attention to detail and communication skills.
- Willingness to work overtime hours as needed.
