Technology Operations Engineering Student

About the role#

As a Technology Operations Engineering Student, you will contribute to innovative projects that improve OLG's technology operations. This role offers hands-on experience with test automation, performance testing, and Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) practices. You will work on release automation and environment support while engaging with technologies such as cloud platforms, AI, and containerization.

What you'll do#

• Collaborate with teams to create automated testing solutions and contribute to performance testing strategies.
• Develop and maintain automation scripts for frameworks using data-driven or behavior-driven programming methodologies.
• Support SRE practices, including release automation and environment maintenance.
• Provide technical operational expertise for the creation, utilization, and execution of test plans to meet project timelines.
• Develop and manage code and configuration repositories to ensure centralized monitoring.
• Prepare documentation for automation solutions to facilitate knowledge transfer and ensure solution effectiveness.
• Participate in code review processes to ensure automation governance and adherence to standards.
• Evaluate opportunities to leverage agile methodologies and tools through proof-of-concepts and prototypes.

What you'll need#

• Current enrollment in a post-secondary program, preferably in information systems, application development, or automation development.
• Strong analytical and critical thinking skills to inform effective decision-making.
• Ability to manage multiple competing priorities and deadlines simultaneously.
• Solid interpersonal skills with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• An aptitude for learning on the job.

• Locations: Toronto, ON or Sault Ste. Marie, ON (On-site).
• Term: Fall 2026 (September – December).
• Type: Full-time student position.
• Compensation: Paid ($18.50 – $28.50 per hour).
• Majors: Computer Science, Data Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Business Administration, or Mathematics.
