About the role#
OCV, LLC is looking for a Software Engineer Part-Time Intern to join our team in Opelika, Alabama. This role focuses on the development and maintenance of Android and iOS applications used by public safety and emergency management agencies. You will work on-site at our headquarters while gaining professional experience in mobile app development.
What you'll do#
- Complete onboarding and technical training with a senior developer mentor.
- Learn and use version control and testing practices.
- Build, maintain, and update mobile applications using our proprietary systems.
- Work with Support and Project Management teams to fix client issues and support production workflows.
- Help improve our development processes and technical standards.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an accredited college or university in computer science, software engineering, information systems, or a related field.
- Familiarity with Git or other version control systems.
- Working knowledge of JSON and command-line tools.
- Experience with at least one object-oriented programming language.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Attention to detail and the ability to follow established processes.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams.
- Analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Adaptability and motivation to learn.
