Automotive Microprocessor Test Engineer Intern - Fall 2026

About the role#

As a Test Engineer Intern, you will ensure that microprocessors function correctly under various environmental conditions. You will collaborate with a team of specialists to understand microprocessor functionality and identify causes of failure. This role involves applying academic knowledge of microprocessor architecture, logic design, analog circuitry, and device physics to real-world design and testing challenges.

What you'll do#

• Participate in the qualification process for new microprocessors to ensure they meet performance standards.
• Utilize Automatic Test Equipment (ATE) for testing procedures.
• Analyze microprocessor behavior to identify and resolve performance issues.
• Apply programming and technical skills to optimize testing processes.

What you'll need#

• Currently pursuing a Bachelors or Masters degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering.
• Knowledge of integrated circuits and microcontrollers or microprocessors.
• Strong software skills in C/C++, Python, JavaScript, Visual Basic, or .NET.
• Basic experience with Linux.
• Coursework experience with VHDL/Verilog simulations.
• Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
