About the role#
Nox Group is hiring Field Engineer Interns for a 12-week program during Summer 2027. This full-time, on-site role in Austin, Texas, offers students exposure to the construction and project management industry. You will work alongside tenured Project Managers and Project Engineers to support the life cycle of active construction projects. This is a safety-sensitive position that may involve physical tasks such as lifting up to 50 pounds, climbing, and navigating active job sites.
What you'll do#
- Coordinate with Project Engineers and Field Superintendents to support daily field operations.
- Perform survey and layout work to ensure accurate material and equipment installations.
- Participate in quality control programs and conduct inspections.
- Attend daily and weekly project meetings to discuss progress and coordinate activities.
- Manage project documents including drawings, specifications, submittals, and RFIs.
- Report field issues to leadership to help resolve problems quickly.
- Track and report quantities of installed materials and equipment.
- Manage the storage and maintenance of on-site materials and equipment.
- Maintain accurate record drawings and as-builts.
- Oversee permit documentation, including dust control and stormwater pollution prevention plans.
- Document project development through weekly progress photos.
- Build professional relationships with owners, clients, engineers, and trade partners.
- Ensure project work meets all contractual obligations.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a four-year Construction Management or Engineering program.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to take on responsibility and communicate effectively with team members.
- A positive and teachable attitude.
