Nursing Student Technician - FlexStaff

About the role#

As a Nursing Student Technician with FlexStaff, you will provide direct patient care and support the healthcare team in a clinical setting. This role involves performing delegated procedures, assisting with daily patient needs, and ensuring a safe and therapeutic environment for patients and their families.

What you'll do#

• Perform direct patient care, including activities of daily living, phlebotomy, EKG, and obtaining specimens.
• Assist with the unit’s admission and discharge processes.
• Obtain and document patient vital signs, such as blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and weight.
• Report significant patient observations and vital information to the Registered Nurse and the broader healthcare team.
• Respond to patient requests and call lights while maintaining clear communication with co-workers and families.
• Support patient mobility by using proper body mechanics and equipment for transfers.
• Assist in emergency situations and follow established protocols for patient safety and care.

What you'll need#

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Current enrollment in a BSN program with a completed fundamental of nursing course and clinical practicum.
• AHA Basic Life Support certification.
