About the role#
As a Counselor Intern, you will work under the direction of our counseling staff and clinical leadership to build skills in case management and patient care. You will support our multidisciplinary team while gaining practical experience in a behavioral healthcare setting. This is an unpaid internship.
What you'll do#
- Facilitate education and process groups under staff direction.
- Complete biopsychosocial histories and treatment plans.
- Engage in individual and family counseling under clinical supervision.
- Assist with patient interventions, retention, and discharge planning.
- Complete documentation and maintain patient confidentiality.
- Participate in facility quality assurance and compliance activities.
- Assist with individual case supervision and other clinical projects.
What you'll need#
- You must be at least twenty-one years of age.
- You must be seeking relevant licensure in the state of Colorado.
- At least one year of experience in a relevant field.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and EMR systems.
- Ability to work with a diverse population and build rapport with patients.
- Strong interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills.
- Excellent organizational abilities and attention to detail.
- A commitment to maintaining professional boundaries and ethical standards.
Location & details#
- This role is based on-site in Loveland, Colorado.
- This is a full-time, unpaid position with a rolling start date.
- Employment is subject to background checks, drug screenings, and a tuberculin screening.
