About the role#
As a Counselor Intern at Northpoint Recovery, you will work under the direction of the counseling staff and the multidisciplinary clinical team. This role is designed to help you gain practical skills in counseling and case management while delivering services to patients. You will engage in clinical work and contribute to the quality assurance and compliance activities of the facility.
What you'll do#
- Facilitate education and process groups.
- Complete biopsychosocial histories and treatment plans.
- Engage in individual and family counseling.
- Assist with patient interventions, retention, and discharge planning.
- Maintain accurate documentation and confidentiality.
- Participate in individual case supervision.
- Handle other clinically appropriate services and special projects as assigned.
What you'll need#
- You must be at least 21 years old and seeking relevant licensure in Idaho.
- A minimum of one year of experience in a relevant field is required.
- You should be pursuing a degree in Psychology.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build rapport with a diverse patient population.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and EMR systems.
- Ability to multitask, prioritize tasks, and solve problems creatively.
- A firm understanding of the ethical standards set by your licensure governing board.
Location & details#
- This is a full-time, paid, on-site position based in Boise, Idaho.
- The internship term follows a rolling schedule.
