About the role#
This is an unpaid, full-time internship within the Wellness & Resiliency Program. You will provide outpatient services to children and adolescents dealing with emotional, social, or behavioral difficulties. You will work under the guidance of a supervisor to deliver individual and group therapy, conduct risk assessments, and manage a clinical caseload.
What you'll do#
- Provide individual and group therapy sessions for children and families.
- Conduct assessments and develop measurable treatment plans.
- Perform crisis intervention and risk assessments during acute client behavior.
- Maintain clinical documentation, including progress notes and charts.
- Schedule and hold meetings with guardians to review treatment plans.
- Coordinate with psychiatrists and evaluators as directed.
- Manage therapy appointments, including home and on-site visits.
- Notify your supervisor of emergency situations within 30 minutes.
- Attend weekly supervision and all assigned professional trainings.
What you'll need#
- Full-time enrollment in a master’s degree program in a clinical mental health discipline, such as psychology.
- Expertise in clinical mental health.
- Ability to apply a trauma-informed approach to all interactions.
- Proficiency in de-escalation techniques.
- A valid driver’s license.
- Physical ability to lift 20 lbs and navigate stairs.
