About the role#
The Supply Chain Intern supports daily operations by participating in purchasing, planning, sourcing, inventory management, and logistics. This role provides hands-on experience within a manufacturing environment. You will work with cross-functional teams on data analysis, process improvements, and supplier coordination to support operational efficiency.
What you'll do#
- Assist with purchasing, planning, scheduling, and inventory activities.
- Support buyers and planners with data analysis, reporting, and material availability reviews.
- Analyze inventory, demand, and forecast data to identify trends.
- Monitor supplier delivery performance and follow up on open orders.
- Support material planning to ensure timely availability for production.
- Participate in sourcing, supplier qualification, and cost-reduction initiatives.
- Assist with import/export documentation and transportation coordination.
- Support inventory accuracy, cycle count analysis, and optimization projects.
- Create and maintain reports, dashboards, and key performance indicators using Microsoft Office and ERP data.
- Collaborate with Engineering, Operations, Quality, and Customer Service on projects.
- Help implement continuous improvement initiatives and process documentation.
- Participate in new product introduction and engineering change projects.
- Present project findings and recommendations to department leadership.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, International Business, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Logistics, or a related field.
- Completion of at least sophomore-level coursework is preferred.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to collect, analyze, and interpret data.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in cross-functional teams.
- Demonstrated initiative, curiosity, and a willingness to learn.
- Prior internship, co-op, project team, or leadership experience is a plus.
- Experience with Power BI, ERP systems, or SAP is a plus.
