As a Mechanical Engineering Co-op/Intern at Nidec Aerospace, you will support the design, assembly, and validation of high-performance electrical engines for the aerospace industry. This role provides hands-on experience in the development of electric propulsion systems, allowing you to work alongside experienced engineers to solve complex technical challenges.
What you'll do#
- Assist in the mechanical design of components for electrical engines.
- Gain experience in component design, 3D and 2D detailing, and various manufacturing methods.
- Perform hands-on assembly of electrical engines in a lab environment.
- Collaborate with internal and external facilities to support the testing and validation of engine subsystems.
- Assist with tasks required to meet project assembly and validation timelines.
- Create technical documentation to support engine development.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree program in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field.
- A strong academic background with relevant coursework in mechanical or aerospace engineering.
- Familiarity with CAD software, specifically Creo.
- Strong data analysis skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Excellent organizational, time management, and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and within a team.
