Application Engineering Co-Op

About the role#

The Application Engineering Co-Op supports the creation of custom motor solutions to address customer system requirements. You will work alongside the applications engineering team to solve technical issues, collaborating with development, manufacturing, and purchasing departments.

What you'll do#

• Perform motor tests and assist in troubleshooting motor issues.
• Prepare motors, test fixtures, and necessary test equipment.
• Collect and summarize data into reports using graphical analysis.
• Assemble, disassemble, and modify motors for experimental purposes.
• Use electronic and mechanical lab tools, including calipers, CMM, and surface tables, to measure motor performance.
• Operate a dynamometer to test electric motors.
• Prepare and ship motor samples to customers.
• Assist with customer approvals, manufacturing issues, and UL approvals.
• Write engineering change notices and estimate time required for support tasks.

What you'll need#

• Current pursuit of a B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering.
• Strong technical knowledge and hands-on mechanical or electrical skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Experience with electronics and the ability to use an oscilloscope.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and critical thinking abilities.

• Work Modality: On-site.
• Schedule: 20 to 30 hours per week.
