About the role#
The Sample Collection QC Intern will support key initiatives within the Neogen Quality department. You will gain hands-on experience in a professional laboratory, manufacturing, or operational environment while applying your academic knowledge to real business challenges. This role focuses on supporting projects related to sample collection processes, including reviewing workflows, documenting process steps, and evaluating data trends.
What you'll do#
- Participate in departmental projects and day-to-day Quality activities.
- Collect, organize, and analyze data, then summarize your findings.
- Review processes, procedures, and documentation to recommend improvements.
- Conduct research and prepare reports, presentations, or project materials.
- Collaborate with Quality, Operations, Laboratory, and other cross-functional partners.
- Participate in team meetings, project discussions, and learning activities.
- Present your project findings and recommendations at the end of the summer.
- Complete additional duties as assigned.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Food Science, Animal Science, Biology, Microbiology, Chemistry, Biochemistry, Laboratory Science, Engineering, Quality, or a related field.
- Strong communication, organization, and attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, specifically Excel and PowerPoint.
- Ability to analyze information, manage priorities, and follow through on assignments.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Interest in a career in Quality, laboratory operations, food safety, animal health, or manufacturing.
- Coursework or experience involving laboratory methods, data analysis, statistics, quality systems, or process improvement.
- Previous internship, research, project, or leadership experience.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
