About the role#
The Nebraska Department of Transportation is seeking a Communications Intern to gain professional experience within their Communications Division. This role focuses on supporting public information efforts through hands-on projects and team collaboration.
What you'll do#
- Assist with the creation and editing of public-facing communications.
- Support public outreach campaigns and departmental events.
- Capture content for various communication projects.
- Contribute to stakeholder coordination and general project support.
- Provide administrative assistance to the Communications team.
What you'll need#
- Status as a three-fourths time student in good standing.
- Major in Communications, Public Health, Political Science, Marketing, or a related field.
- Ability to work at least 15 hours per week.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Interest in public policy, marketing, or organizational development.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Familiarity with Adobe Acrobat Pro or document management systems is preferred.
