About the role#
Nautique Boat Company is hiring an Industrial Engineer Intern to work with our operations departments. You will focus on improving manufacturing efficiency, quality, and waste reduction. This role requires a hands-on approach to developing solutions that support our boat production.
What you'll do#
- Research, design, and develop manufacturing processes, such as production flow and assembly methods.
- Create and maintain detailed layouts for facilities and equipment.
- Design, test, and source tools or machinery while justifying the associated costs.
- Analyze products and processes to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance quality.
- Represent the manufacturing team during cross-functional meetings.
- Complete other tasks as requested.
What you'll need#
- Current pursuit of a degree in Industrial or Mechanical Engineering.
- Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Knowledge of Kaizen, Lean Manufacturing, and Quality Control processes.
- Strong analytical, mathematical, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work in a hands-on environment and manage competing priorities independently.
- Experience in the marine industry or with watersports and boating is preferred.
- Ability to trailer a boat.
Location & details#
- This position is located in Orlando, Florida.
- Work is on-site and part-time, requiring 20 hours per week between Monday and Thursday, 7 AM to 4 PM.
- You must be available for at least two semesters.
- The role involves working in a non-climate-controlled factory environment where you may be exposed to dust and fiberglass. You must be able to stand for long periods, bend, and lift up to 25 pounds.
