About the role#
National Carriers, a National Beef Company, is seeking a Logistics/Operations Summer Intern for the summer of 2027. This is a paid, on-site, full-time internship based in Dodge City, Kansas. You will spend 10 to 12 weeks gaining hands-on experience in supply chain and transportation operations. You will work alongside our team to support daily logistics functions and complete a specific project focused on a current operational challenge, which you will present to our leadership team at the end of the program.
What you'll do#
- Collect, organize, and enter logistics and provisioning data into tracking systems and spreadsheets.
- Track freight, equipment, and inventory from origin to delivery.
- Monitor vendor and carrier performance metrics.
- Prepare reports and summaries of supply chain activity.
- Shadow senior analysts to review logistics processes and identify improvements.
- Maintain accurate records within logistics and inventory databases.
- Participate in team meetings and training sessions.
- Research and complete a supervisor-assigned project and deliver a final presentation.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in an accredited college degree program with a focus on Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or Business Administration.
- Completion of at least two years of college, with junior classification for the 2026-2027 academic year.
- A minimum GPA of 3.0 in core curriculum classes.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
- Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
- Attention to detail and organizational abilities.
- Demonstrated leadership and on-campus involvement.
- Ability to work independently and take direction from senior staff.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Authorization to work for any employer in the U.S. (no visa sponsorship provided).
