About the role#
Audubon Texas is seeking an Engagement & Communications Intern to support our statewide chapter network. This paid position offers hands-on experience in nonprofit management, digital communications, and conservation capacity-building. You will work directly with Audubon staff and chapter leaders to improve how we share resources and engage communities. This role is designed for students or early-career professionals interested in conservation and organizational support.
What you'll do#
- Maintain and improve digital libraries and shared resource platforms used by Audubon chapters.
- Develop toolkits, templates, and guides to assist chapters with their operations, communications, and fundraising efforts.
- Update websites and create social media content for Audubon and its affiliated chapters.
- Coordinate chapter engagement activities, including training webinars and quarterly check-ins.
- Gather and analyze feedback from chapters to identify their needs and improve our support systems.
What you'll need#
- An interest in nonprofit management, communications, environmental science, or related fields.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks at once.
- Comfort using digital tools such as Google Workspace, Canva, or Mailchimp.
- A willingness to learn, take direction, and incorporate constructive feedback.
- Experience fostering inclusive and collaborative work environments is valued.
Location & details#
- Term: Fall 2026.
- Location: Remote within Texas, with opportunities for hybrid work.
- Hours: Approximately 15 hours per week, with a flexible schedule between Monday and Friday, 8am to 5pm.
- Compensation: $20.00 to $22.50 per hour.
- Majors: Communications, Environmental Engineering, Biology, Political Science, Public Health, Business Administration, or Marketing.
