About the role#
The Human Resources Intern supports the HR department through a mix of employee housing coordination, international J-1 student support, and general administrative tasks. This seasonal internship offers hands-on experience in HR operations while helping maintain a welcoming environment for staff. You will assist with onboarding, record keeping, and engagement initiatives, with a specific focus on helping international students navigate their time in the country.
What you'll do#
- Provide administrative support to the HR department and maintain employee confidentiality.
- Assist with recruiting tasks, including job postings, applicant communication, and interview scheduling.
- Manage new-hire onboarding, orientation, and employee paperwork.
- Update HR systems and maintain employee records.
- Support staff events, recognition programs, and general engagement initiatives.
- Coordinate staff housing move-ins, checkouts, room preparation, and inspections.
- Manage room access, reset door codes, and address housing concerns like lockouts or maintenance requests.
- Serve as a resource for international students, helping them connect with support and navigate daily life.
- Organize cultural and recreational experiences such as hiking, rafting, and local outings.
- Coordinate transportation for international students to the airport, essential services, and shopping.
- Assist the HR Director with special projects, surveys, and reporting.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Hospitality, or a related field.
- Availability from early March through October 2027.
- A valid driver's license and the ability to meet company vehicle insurance requirements.
- Ability to drive for extended periods when necessary.
- Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently.
- Comfort interacting with employees from diverse backgrounds and cultures.
- Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion.
- Previous experience in HR, J-1 programs, or employee housing is helpful but not required.
