About the role#
The Group Experience Coordinator supports the planning, arrival, and stay of various groups at our Nantahala River campus. You will work with the Lead Group Coordinator and our sales team to ensure guests, including schools, churches, camps, and corporate groups, have a smooth experience. This is a seasonal internship running from the summer of 2027.
What you'll do#
- Learn and use our reservation system, Microsoft 365, and Google Drive to manage group documentation.
- Coordinate with the Sales, Food and Beverage, Lodging, and Adventure Operations departments to meet group needs.
- Communicate with group leaders before and during their trips.
- Prepare welcome packets and organize keys for arriving groups.
- Greet groups upon arrival and assist them as they move between activities, meals, and lodging.
- Attend group meals to check in with leaders and deliver to-go meals.
- Complete other tasks as assigned.
What you'll need#
- At least 18 years of age.
- Prior experience in guest service or hospitality.
- Proficiency in Microsoft 365 and Google Drive.
- Strong communication and decision-making skills.
- Ability to work as a team player and solve problems creatively.
- Capacity to be productive with minimal supervision.
- Previous experience with group facilitation or outdoor recreation is helpful.
- Comfort working both in an office and outdoors in variable weather, including walking on uneven ground.
