About the role#
The Helpdesk Intern provides hands-on support for routine technology inquiries and service needs. This role serves as the primary point of contact for internal technology users, helping to resolve IT tickets while gaining experience in real-world business scenarios.
What you'll do#
- Handle level 1 ticketing issues and escalate complex problems to senior team members.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for client assistance, resolving IT tickets for basic end-user PC, server, and hardware inquiries.
- Troubleshoot issues by working directly with clients and asking effective questions to diagnose root causes.
- Perform help desk duties in a call center environment with a strong focus on end-user support.
- Document steps taken for all requests and keep customer history updated using established methods.
- Maintain a professional manner and composure, even when handling stressful client situations.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a college program for Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Mathematics, Cybersecurity, or a related information systems field.
- Working knowledge of standard end-user hardware and software.
- Ability to address most issues by following established procedures.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Experience installing, administrating, and maintaining Microsoft Office applications, desktop operating systems, and PCs is preferred.
- Proven ability to work independently, multitask, adapt to frequent change, and provide quality customer service.
