About the role#
MNP is hiring a Co-op Accountant for the Assurance and Accounting team for the Winter 2027 term. This is a full-time, paid, on-site position based in Ontario. You will gain hands-on experience in financial reporting and client advisory services while working alongside professional accountants.
What you'll do#
- Develop technical skills in audits, reviews, compilations, bookkeeping, and tax.
- Prepare balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and other financial reports to summarize client status.
- Perform accounts payable and accounts receivable tasks.
- Review and correct discrepancies in financial documents and reports.
- Collaborate with the client engagement team and build relationships with client contacts.
- Apply knowledge of IFRS, GAAP, and ASPE standards.
- Set up files for new clients and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Prepare technical reports and client summaries.
What you'll need#
- Working towards a bachelor’s degree in commerce or business administration, with a preference for accounting or finance majors.
- Progress toward CPA Professional Education Program (PEP) prerequisites.
- Previous office experience in an accounting role is an asset.
- Experience in customer or client service is an asset.
- Familiarity with accounting and tax software is an asset.
