About the role#
As an intern on the Automation Engineering team, you will work with a cross-functional group to develop end effectors and actuators for precision automated processes. This role reports to the Director of Automation Engineering. You will work on-site in Milpitas, California, for the Summer 2027 term.
What you'll do#
- Develop and implement designs for robotic end effectors.
- Build and test robotic actuators and processes.
- Assist with the development of optics mounting processes.
- Use 3D printing to iterate on designs quickly.
- Document and report your results.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing an undergraduate degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Computer, or Aerospace Engineering.
- Entry-level knowledge of SolidWorks and 3D printing.
- Understanding of mechanics, stresses, and the ability to design basic actuators.
- Basic programming skills, with a preference for Python.
- Experience working with optics and delicate components.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.

- Compensation: $27.00 to $31.00 per hour.
- Benefits: Interns working at least 20 hours per week receive 11 paid holidays, sick time, and 15 paid vacation days accrued biweekly.
