About the role#
We are looking for a Ph.D. student to join our team for a research internship focused on Vision-Language-Action (VLA) models for robotic manipulation. You will work with our researchers to improve the reliability and effectiveness of these models in real-world tasks. The position involves developing new algorithms and testing them in both simulation and physical environments.
What you'll do#
- Research VLA models for robotic manipulation.
- Develop and implement novel algorithms.
- Conduct experiments in simulation and on physical robots.
- Deploy and evaluate learning-based policies.
- Share your research findings at robotics conferences.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Ph.D. program.
- Background in robot learning for manipulation.
- Hands-on experience with VLA models like pi0, OpenVLA, Octo, or GR00T N1.
- Proficiency in Python, ROS, and deep learning frameworks like PyTorch.
- Experience with robotic simulation and sim-to-real transfer.
- Experience deploying policies on physical robots.
- A strong publication record or evidence of research potential.
