About the role#
Mitsubishi Electric Research Laboratories is looking for an intern to conduct research on decentralized data assimilation. You will focus on multi-physical and multi-component systems governed by large-scale nonlinear differential-algebraic equations.
What you'll do#
- Study and develop data assimilation algorithms for complex systems.
- Implement these algorithms efficiently.
- Conduct research on decentralized data assimilation methods.
What you'll need#
- You must be a senior Ph.D. student in mechanical, electrical, chemical engineering, or a related field.
- Proficiency in Julia or Python.
- A strong background in nonlinear estimation and control, Bayesian methods, machine learning, graph theory, or optimization.
- Demonstrated expertise through peer-reviewed publications or equivalent experience.

- This role is based on-site in Cambridge, Massachusetts.
- The position is full-time.
- This is a paid internship with a monthly salary between 6,000 and 8,000 dollars.
- The term is typically 3 months with a rolling start date.
