Group 11-10 | Co-Op | Cyber Security | Fall 2026

About the role#

The Cyber Security team at MIT Lincoln Laboratory monitors and protects research infrastructure from IT threats. This co-op position involves working within a security operations center to analyze network traffic, identify vulnerabilities, and develop solutions to mitigate risks from malware and other cyber threats.

What you'll do#

• Support day-to-day operations within the Cyber Security team.
• Assist with the monitoring and analysis of network traffic and security alerts.
• Identify potential threats, vulnerabilities, and anomalous activity.
• Contribute to efforts focused on mitigating cyber security risks.
• Collaborate with cyber security professionals in a mission-driven research environment.

What you'll need#

• Currently pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Cyber Security, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Demonstrated interest in cyber security operations and protecting enterprise systems.
• Familiarity with basic networking, operating systems, or security concepts.
• Strong analytical and writing skills with high attention to detail.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
