    About the role#

    This co-op position within the Cyber System Assessments Group focuses on research and development for compromise detection in Internet of Things (IoT) devices. You will work alongside a team of experts to analyze device exploitation trends and develop novel detection techniques. This role is a full-time, paid opportunity running from July through December 2026.

    What you'll do#

    • Conduct research and development focused on IoT compromise detection.
    • Develop web services as part of your technical project work.
    • Create new techniques for identifying system compromises.
    • Research and analyze current trends in IoT device exploitation.

    What you'll need#

    • Current enrollment as a junior or senior undergraduate, or graduate student in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or a similar technical program.
    • Proficiency in Linux OS internals, Git, and Docker.
    • Experience with common exploitation techniques.
    • Programming skills in Python, Django, and React.
    • Ability to perform technical writing and deliver presentations.
    • Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret level DoD security clearance, which requires a pre-employment background investigation and U.S. citizenship.
