About the role#
As an Engineering Intern, you will work alongside experienced professionals to solve real business challenges within our manufacturing operations. You will contribute to process improvements and technical projects while developing your professional skills. This is a full-time, paid internship offered on a rolling basis.
What you'll do#
- Help develop and maintain applications to control manufacturing processes.
- Implement initiatives to improve equipment reliability, productivity, and maintenance costs.
- Troubleshoot and optimize existing plant processes.
- Develop engineering flow diagrams, process and instrumentation diagrams, and mass and energy balances.
- Compile basis of design information and identify technologies for upgrading existing processes.
- Develop new processes for product manufacturing.
- Gather and evaluate data for product development, scale-up, and commissioning.
- Create equipment specifications, perform technical due diligence, and issue bid tabs with recommendations.
- Configure and troubleshoot process instrumentation and control system documentation.
- Explore new technologies to improve diagnostic and predictive capabilities for maintenance.
- Participate in improvement processes like 5S, Kaizen, and Standard Work.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a degree program for Chemical, Mechanical, Mining, or Industrial Engineering.
- Relevant academic projects, laboratory work, or previous internship experience.
- Strong analytical problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office.
- Ability to read and generate engineering drawings such as P&IDs and PFDs.
- Familiarity with standard chemical plant unit operations.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Strong computer literacy and attention to detail.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
