About the role#
The Environmental Health and Safety (EH&S) Intern supports safety and environmental initiatives within our manufacturing environment. You will work alongside site leadership and EH&S staff to gain hands-on experience in risk reduction, compliance, and continuous improvement. This role provides practical exposure to safety programs while you contribute to projects that maintain a safe and responsible workplace.
What you'll do#
- Assist with safety inspections, workplace audits, and safety observations.
- Support incident investigations and help track corrective actions.
- Maintain EH&S records, documentation, and regulatory compliance files.
- Analyze safety performance metrics and identify trends.
- Support employee safety training initiatives and awareness campaigns.
- Assist with environmental programs, including waste management, recycling, emissions, water management, and sustainability.
- Participate in risk assessments and hazard identification.
- Engage in OE/Lean activities like 5S, Kaizen, Daily Management Control, and Standard Work.
- Prepare reports, presentations, and project documentation.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a bachelor or master degree program in Environmental Engineering, Occupational Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Health and Safety, Engineering, Chemistry, Biology, or a related field.
- Ability to collect, organize, and analyze EH&S data.
- Capacity to assist with safety programs and environmental compliance.
- Strong communication skills for interacting with internal and external stakeholders.
- Willingness to work in office, laboratory, and manufacturing environments.
- Ability to wear required Personal Protective Equipment, including safety glasses, hearing protection, hard hats, and steel-toed footwear.
