About the role#
Miller Valentine Construction is hiring for a Construction Co-op role. This is a full-time, paid position available on a rolling basis. You will work on-site in either Charleston or Columbia, South Carolina.
What you'll do#
- Assist with estimating tasks like quantity takeoffs, bid solicitation, and bid comparisons.
- Support scope change estimates and write specifications.
- Review shop drawings for accuracy.
- Take notes during customer and project meetings.
- Assemble and review Operations and Maintenance manuals and As-Built drawings.
- Help create, update, and manage project schedules using scheduling software.
- Use AutoCAD to assist in conceptual design creation.
- Support Superintendents during project execution.
- Research cost or process improvements.
- Organize project documentation and assist with project buy-out and vendor coordination.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a degree program for Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Meticulous attention to detail.
- Familiarity with estimating, project management, or cost accounting software is a plus.
