About the role#
Micron is seeking Master's and PhD students for a Summer 2027 internship at the Albany Nanotech facility in New York. You will work alongside engineers and researchers to develop future semiconductor technologies, advanced process capabilities, and next-generation memory solutions. This program offers hands-on experience in research and development, culminating in a project presentation to technical leadership.
What you'll do#
- Support semiconductor research and development activities.
- Design and execute engineering experiments.
- Analyze technical data to identify trends and solve problems using statistical methods.
- Develop recommendations based on experimental results.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and external research partners.
- Document findings and communicate technical results.
- Participate in team meetings, technical reviews, and development activities.
- Use AI-enabled tools, data analytics platforms, and digital solutions to improve research productivity.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a Master's or PhD in Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, Computer Engineering, Data Science, or a related STEM field.
- Expected graduation date of December 2027 or later.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and within collaborative teams.
- Demonstrated interest in advanced technology research.
- Preferred experience includes semiconductor manufacturing, cleanroom work, independent research, or technical publications.
- Familiarity with data analysis tools such as JMP, Python, R, or MATLAB is preferred.
