About the role#
As an intern on the CMP Process team, you will focus on the development, optimization, and characterization of Chemical Mechanical Planarization process technology. You will work alongside experienced engineers on a dedicated technical project, gaining exposure to semiconductor processing. The internship concludes with a presentation of your technical contributions and results to engineering teams.
What you'll do#
- Develop and evaluate CMP processes to meet physical and electrical performance requirements for advanced DRAM.
- Partner with multi-functional process and equipment teams to implement and validate improvements.
- Apply root-cause analysis and failure-mode methodologies to identify limitations and drive corrective actions.
- Conduct fundamental research and experimental studies to support next-generation process development.
- Analyze manufacturing data and apply AI-assisted tools to improve process understanding and project efficiency.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a Ph.D. or equivalent in Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Physics, or a related field.
- Enrollment as a student with academic studies continuing beyond September 2027.
- Experience with experimental design, data analysis, and the interpretation of technical results.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and quantitative reasoning skills.
- Ability to manage project work independently and communicate findings through reports and presentations.
- Preferred skills include experience with semiconductor processing, statistical process control, design of experiments, and programming or scripting in Python, MATLAB, JMP, or R.
