About the role#
This role joins a team focused on advancing High Bandwidth Memory (HBM) solutions through deep characterization and root-cause analysis. You will work with Design Technology Co-Optimization, Product Engineering, and Packaging teams to improve product quality. The position centers on building a first-principles understanding of HBM cube limitations by validating models against silicon data.
What you'll do#
- Design, build, and debug custom bench-level test setups and measurement flows using laboratory hardware.
- Characterize HBM cubes under various thermal, mechanical, and electrical stress conditions.
- Develop and maintain test programs and workloads using Python, Verilog, or C/C++.
- Analyze MBIST signatures and complex datasets to identify root causes of performance issues.
- Use AI and generative tools to improve engineering workflows, data analysis, and problem-solving.
What you'll need#
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Materials Science, Physics, or a related field.
- At least 3 years of experience in semiconductor characterization, failure analysis, or product engineering.
- Hands-on experience with lab equipment such as oscilloscopes, SMUs, power supplies, and probe stations.
- Programming proficiency in Python and at least one additional language like C/C++ or Verilog.
- Experience analyzing complex datasets and performing root-cause investigations.
- A Master's or PhD in a related technical field is preferred.
- Familiarity with DRAM, HBM, memory subsystems, or advanced semiconductor packaging is a plus.
- Knowledge of reliability, yield improvement, DOE methodologies, and MBIST analysis is helpful.
