About the role#
As a Category Supplier Management Intern, you will contribute to procurement and supplier management initiatives. You will work with procurement professionals to analyze market trends and support strategic sourcing outcomes. This role focuses on driving cost savings, operational excellence, and the adoption of AI across procurement processes.
What you'll do#
- Support cost management and category strategies through market research, spend analysis, benchmarking, and should-cost modeling.
- Assist with strategic sourcing by analyzing market trends, supporting supplier segmentation, and developing category recommendations.
- Collaborate with internal team members and suppliers to deliver customer-focused procurement solutions.
- Analyze procurement metrics and supplier performance data to find opportunities for savings and process improvements.
- Support AI adoption by identifying use cases, developing training materials, tracking metrics, and promoting responsible use of AI-enabled solutions.
What you'll need#
- Current pursuit of a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Project Management, Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Expected graduation date of September 2027 or later.
- 0-2 years of relevant experience via internships, co-ops, research, or academic projects in procurement, supply chain, business, analytics, or engineering.
- Analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret data and create recommendations.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrated interest in AI tools, including generative AI and large language models.
- Experience with data analysis tools like Power BI, Tableau, SQL, or Python is a plus.
- Leadership experience through student organizations, project teams, or community involvement.
