About the role#
This internship is offered through the U.S. Department of Defense SkillsBridge program and is open to active-duty service members only. You will gain hands-on experience with advanced semiconductor manufacturing equipment. The program helps you build technical experience to prepare for potential full-time roles after your military separation. You remain on active duty and continue to receive your military pay and benefits during this period.
What you'll do#
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on semiconductor manufacturing equipment.
- Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and vacuum subsystems.
- Use technical documentation, schematics, and standard operating procedures.
- Support equipment installations, upgrades, and qualification activities.
- Follow safety, quality, and cleanroom protocols.
- Partner with technicians, engineers, and operations teams to reach manufacturing goals.
What you'll need#
- You must be an active-duty U.S. service member approved for the DoD SkillsBridge program.
- A background in mechanical, electrical, electronics, or maintenance disciplines.
- The ability to work in a manufacturing and cleanroom environment.
- Strong troubleshooting skills and attention to detail.
Location & details#
- Locations: Boise, Idaho and Manassas, Virginia.
- Schedule: Full-time, on-site.
- Duration: 90 to 180 days, aligned with your approved SkillsBridge window.
- Housing: An apartment or extended-stay hotel is provided for the duration of the program, with a small daily contribution required from the participant.
- Compensation: This is an unpaid internship under the SkillsBridge program. Participants continue to receive military pay and benefits.
