- Support commodity sourcing activities, including gathering quotes, organizing bid comparisons, and supporting award recommendations.
- Build bottom-up should-cost models for key parts and test them against supplier quotes.
- Write sourcing strategies for part categories, covering supplier landscapes, cost benchmarks, and qualification costs.
- Map single-source dependencies, measure risk, and recommend when a second source is needed.
- Build clear-to-build status views to compare supply against demand and support supply readiness.
- Set up central spend dashboards or automated supplier scorecards to monitor performance on delivery and yield.
- Use internal AI tools to automate analysis and data collection for supply mapping and spend metrics.
- Partner with sourcing managers and engineering on live sourcing decisions.
- Prepare materials for sourcing decisions and supplier negotiations.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Operations, or Business Analytics.

- Analytical skills to turn data into clear written and spoken recommendations.
- Ability to work through unclear problems and set your own priorities.
- Intent to return to your degree program after the internship.
- Ability to obtain and maintain work authorization in the United States.
- Preferred: Master's degree or MBA with an undergraduate background in supply chain or electrical engineering.
- Preferred: Experience with silicon, electronic, or electro-mechanical parts and manufacturing processes like fabrication, molding, or assembly.
- Preferred: Experience building cost models or automated reports in tools like Tableau or Power BI.
- Preferred: Experience using AI or LLM tools to automate workflows.
- Preferred: Prior experience in sourcing, manufacturing, hardware engineering, or consumer electronics.
