About the role#
The Augmented Capture research team is looking for interns to help build unique audio experiences for reliving and sharing real-life moments through spatial audio capture. You will work on projects designed to align your specific skills with current research needs. This is a full-time, paid internship lasting between 12 and 24 weeks.
What you'll do#
- Design and implement new algorithms to solve audio research problems.
- Create experimental designs and execute them to evaluate new audio technologies.
- Collaborate with and support other researchers across audio and acoustic engineering disciplines.
- Communicate your research agenda, progress, and final results.
What you'll need#
- You are currently pursuing a PhD in Acoustics, Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related STEM field.
- At least 1 year of experience working with spatial audio capture algorithms.
- Expertise in one or more areas, such as audio signal processing, binaural audio technology, microphone array processing, machine learning for spatial audio, beamforming, or spatial audio perception.
- Coding proficiency in C/C++, C#, Python, Max/MSP, or MATLAB.
- An intent to return to your degree program after the internship.
- Experience with real-time multichannel audio processing, machine learning platforms like PyTorch or TensorFlow, or game engines such as Unity or Unreal is preferred.
- A track record of results, such as accepted papers in top journals or conferences.
- Ability to communicate and work cross-functionally within a team.
- You must obtain and maintain work authorization in the United States.
