About the role#
This internship focuses on advancing artificial intelligence for the RayBan Meta smart glasses. You will work on research that bridges the gap between fundamental machine learning and product development. The role involves developing models and algorithms for both on-device and server-side settings.
What you'll do#
- Perform research to advance the science and technology of intelligent machines.
- Develop novel NLP algorithms and systems using deep learning and machine learning on large datasets.
- Collaborate with researchers and cross-functional partners to communicate research plans, progress, and results.
- Publish your research findings and contribute to work that applies directly to Meta products.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Multi-modal Systems, Computer Vision, Natural Language Processing, Speech Recognition, Audio Processing, Conversational AI, or a related field.
- Proficiency in Python, C++, C, or Java.
- Experience building systems with deep learning frameworks like PyTorch or TensorFlow.
- Ability to obtain and maintain work authorization in the United States.
- Interest in theoretical and empirical research to solve complex problems.
- Experience in at least one area such as NLP, speech and audio understanding, computer vision, multi-modal reasoning, reinforcement learning, or search and recommendations.
- A track record of results, such as grants, fellowships, patents, or first-authored publications.
- Experience with enterprise-level AI/ML platforms, big data management, and GPU compute.
- Demonstrated software engineering experience through internships, work, coding competitions, or open-source contributions.

- This is a full-time, paid internship located in Menlo Park, California, or Burlingame, California.
- The role is on-site.
- Internships last between 12 and 24 weeks with rolling start dates.
