About the role#
Meta is seeking Research Interns to join the Meta Superintelligence Labs (MSL) team. You will work on building Personal Superintelligence by turning ambiguous product problems into shipped systems. This role covers the full research-to-product stack, including backend systems, agent environments, data, evaluations, and post-training. You will have the opportunity to make core algorithmic advances and apply your ideas at scale.
What you'll do#
- Collaborate with researchers and cross-functional partners to communicate research plans and results.
- Perform research that applies directly to Meta product development.
- Work hands-on across the full LLM post-training stack.
- Build training data and design rigorous, product-relevant evaluations.
- Execute, analyze, and iterate on large-scale post-training runs.
- Advance long-horizon agentic capabilities, such as tool use, full-stack coding, search, planning, and personalization.
- Research strategies for improved training, evaluation, synthetic-data generation, and data curation.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Generative AI, or a relevant technical field.
- Experience with Python, C++, C, Java, or related languages.
- Experience building systems based on machine learning or deep learning methods.
- Must obtain and maintain work authorization in the country of employment.
- Intent to return to your degree program after the internship.
- A track record of significant results, such as grants, patents, or first-authored publications at leading workshops or conferences.
- Experience working and communicating in a cross-functional team environment.
- Experience advancing AI techniques, including contributions to open source libraries and frameworks.
- Ability to solve analytical problems using quantitative approaches and set up ML experiments.
- Experience analyzing complex, large-scale, high-dimensionality data.
- Experience using deep learning frameworks and applying theoretical research to solve problems.
Location & details#
- Location: Menlo Park, California.
- Modality: On-site.
