About the role#
Meta Reality Labs Research is seeking interns to work on audio signal processing, machine learning, and audio-visual learning. You will contribute to projects including multimodal representation learning, audio-visual scene analysis, egocentric audio-visual learning, multi-sensory speech enhancement, and acoustic activity localization. Internships last between 12 and 24 weeks with various start dates available throughout the year.
What you'll do#
- Research, model, design, develop, and test novel audio and speech processing algorithms.
- Design and implement new algorithms to solve specific audio research problems.
- Create experimental designs and execute them to evaluate new audio technologies.
- Collaborate with researchers and engineers across diverse technical disciplines.
- Communicate your research agenda, progress, and final results to the team.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a PhD in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Signal Processing, Machine Learning, Computer Vision, Electrical Engineering, Applied Math, Acoustics Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, or a related STEM field.
- At least 3 years of experience with Python, Matlab, or similar languages.
- At least 3 years of experience using machine learning platforms like PyTorch or TensorFlow.
- At least 2 years of experience building computational models for audio, audio-visual, or speech applications.
- You must obtain and maintain work authorization in the country of employment.
- Strong background in statistical modeling or signal processing.
- Proven track record of results, such as accepted papers at top computer vision or machine learning conferences.
- Demonstrated software engineering experience through internships, work, coding competitions, or open source contributions.
- Experience communicating and working in a cross-functional team environment.
- Intent to return to your degree program after the internship ends.

- Compensation: $7,650 to $12,667 per month.
