What you'll do#
- Define and run tests to evaluate material surfaces and coatings, which helps drive material selection for our products.
- Develop new finishing and coating solutions to enable manufacturing processes.
- Support high volume production lines by resolving material challenges.
What you'll need#
- You are currently pursuing a PhD in Material Science, Chemistry, Physics, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- A first-principle understanding of material microstructure, interfacial interaction, and how these relate to mechanical properties and reliability.
- Experience in developing, testing, and specifying various coatings.
- Knowledge of cosmetic surface finishing and coating materials, including organic, inorganic, PVD, CVD, plating, and spray processes.
- Hands-on experience with deposition techniques like PVD, CVD, plating, and spray.
- Knowledge of optical thin film coating.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including the use of statistical tools.
- You must have work authorization in the United States and plan to return to your degree program after the internship.
