Field Placement, Internship, and Certification Coordinator

About the role#

This full-time, year-round position coordinates undergraduate and graduate student field placement and internship experiences within public and private schools. You will serve as the primary point of contact for the Teacher Education Program and Graduate Programs in Education and School Counseling, managing relationships with educational agencies and ensuring compliance with state and federal certification regulations.

What you'll do#

• Act as the initial point of contact for inquiries regarding field placements.
• Secure internship, practicum, and field placements, managing placement sheets and database entries while coordinating with the TEP/GPE team.
• Cultivate and maintain ongoing relationships with local education agencies to improve placement experiences.
• Support students in preparing certification application materials and guide them through the Pennsylvania Department of Education (PDE) processes.
• Manage and update program materials, including syllabi, handbooks, and forms.
• Handle external and internal reporting, including data collection and analysis related to Act 48, ETS PRAXIS scores, and Title II reports.
• Distribute information regarding field experience components to students, mentor teachers, and university supervisors.

What you'll need#

• Bachelor's Degree in an Education-related field (Master’s degree preferred).
• 2-3 years of administrative experience; 3-5 years of experience with teacher education and certification is preferred.
• Expert computer proficiency, including experience with Banner, Excel, and database management.
• Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize complex projects and work independently.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to collaborate across departments and with external stakeholders.
• Ability to stay current with modifications in compliance and regulations related to teacher certification.
