About the role#
Mesh Optical Technologies is hiring an Associate Electrical Engineer for an internship or co-op position. You will work directly with our engineering team to design and validate optical interconnect products and the manufacturing facility that builds them. This is a hands-on role where you own real engineering tasks.
What you'll do#
- Design test boards, power modules, and control electronics using schematic capture and multilayer PCB layout in Altium.
- Operate lab equipment including oscilloscopes, VNAs, and logic analyzers to bring up hardware.
- Document test results to validate optical interconnect prototypes and production processes.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to develop our high-volume optical manufacturing facility.
What you'll need#
- Pursuing or recently completed a BS or graduate degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Computer Science.
- A GPA of 3.5 or higher.
- A portfolio of hands-on projects such as Formula SAE, SolarCar, Robotics, or CubeSats.
- Familiarity with signal-integrity concepts and solder-rework skills.
- An analytical mindset and a focus on first-principles problem solving.

- Compensation: $26.00 to $38.00 per hour, plus a flexible monthly housing and transportation stipend.
