About the role#
Mesa Associates, Inc. is hiring an engineering intern to support Substation Engineering and Design projects in our Knoxville office. You will work alongside experienced engineers and designers to create electrical drawing deliverables for construction projects. This position provides hands-on experience in a professional engineering environment.
What you'll do#
- Assist with Substation Engineering and Design projects.
- Prepare detail drawings of substation wiring, electrical components, and assemblies.
- Use manual or Computer Aided Design (CAD) equipment to complete tasks.
- Operate peripheral equipment, including printers and plotters.
- Work under the direction of project managers and senior engineers.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as a Junior or Senior at an accredited university.
- Working towards a BS degree in Computer, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering.

- Location: Knoxville, Tennessee.
- Modality: On-site.
- Schedule: This is a rolling position. We offer part-time hours during the school year with the option to transition to full-time during winter and summer breaks. We coordinate with your school schedule to ensure work does not conflict with classes.
