About the role#
Mesa Associates, Inc is hiring a Structural Engineering Intern to join our team in Knoxville. You will work under the direction of senior engineers, designers, and engineering managers. This is a part-time, on-site, paid internship with a rolling term.
What you'll do#
- Apply engineering principles to design structures and components for power generation facilities.
- Help prepare and complete engineering designs, calculations, drawings, and specifications.
- Collaborate with the design team and other disciplines on multi-discipline projects.
- Learn and follow client and company policies, procedures, and documentation requirements.
- Perform self-study to master industry-specific design principles.
- Perform quality work and complete self-checks before submitting tasks to senior staff.
- Manage your own task assignments.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as a junior, senior, or graduate student.
- Good standing in an ABET-accredited college or university.
- A minimum 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale.
- Majors in Civil Engineering or Mechanical Engineering.
