About the role#
This internship provides hands-on experience in multifamily and healthcare loan underwriting. You will work with a manager and mentor to apply your academic knowledge to real projects. The program includes professional development opportunities such as mock interviews, resume reviews, and training on industry topics. At the end of the program, you will deliver a final presentation of your project results and business recommendations to leadership.
What you'll do#
- Underwrite components of multifamily and healthcare loans based on bank guidelines.
- Prepare underwriting narrative input, forms, and exhibits for the Loan Committee.
- Review third-party reports including Phase I Environmental, Appraisal, and Property Condition Reports.
- Analyze borrower financial statements, organizational documents, and Real Estate Owned schedules.
- Use Microsoft Excel to build financial models for transaction underwriting.
- Work with underwriters, loan processors, and the closing team to verify due diligence.
- Communicate outstanding due diligence issues to processors and borrowers.
- Review loan documents to ensure they are clear to close.
- Attend relevant training sessions and HR development days.
What you'll need#
- Completion of at least your sophomore year of college (graduates are also welcome).
- High school diploma or GED from an accredited institution.
- Ability to demonstrate core disciplines: Teamwork, Communication, Critical Thinking, Integrity, Self-Discipline, and Adaptability.
- All degree programs are considered.
