About the role#
Meadowbrook Veterinary Clinic offers a Veterinary Technician Student Externship and Preceptorship Program. This role provides practical experience to students currently enrolled in an accredited Veterinary Technician program. You will work alongside our veterinarians and support staff to gain hands-on clinical experience. The program focuses on building your skills to prepare you for work after graduation.
What you'll do#
- Assist with patient examinations, diagnostics, and treatments.
- Administer medications and vaccinations.
- Monitor anesthesia during surgical procedures.
- Conduct laboratory tests such as bloodwork and urinalysis.
- Take radiographs.
- Care for hospitalized animals.
- Educate pet owners on preventive care.
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Veterinary Technician program.
- A desire to learn and a strong interest in animal care.
- Communication and teamwork skills.
- Basic knowledge of animal handling and medical terminology is helpful.
- Enthusiasm for participating in patient care.
