About the role#
The Transportation Intern supports the Transportation and Logistics team with daily operations, including inbound and outbound shipments, equipment moves, and customs requirements. This role provides hands-on experience in domestic and international logistics, data management, and cross-functional collaboration. You will contribute to process improvements, data accuracy, and the overall efficiency of the supply chain.
What you'll do#
- Maintain accurate transportation records, shipment information, freight cost data, and supporting documentation.
- Track domestic and international shipments and provide timely updates to internal stakeholders.
- Coordinate with transportation carriers, freight forwarders, customs brokers, and service providers to support shipment execution and resolve issues.
- Support transportation and customs documentation, including bills of lading, commercial invoices, and shipping instructions.
- Investigate shipping discrepancies, delays, or delivery issues and identify root causes.
- Assist with performance reporting, KPI maintenance, and data analysis to support management decision-making.
- Identify opportunities to improve transportation processes, data integrity, and follow-up discipline.
What you'll need#
- Currently enrolled in a degree program in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Transportation, Operations Management, or a related field.
- Foundational knowledge of domestic transportation operations, international logistics, and customs formalities.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to accurately enter, organize, and analyze data.
- Proficient in spoken and written English; French communication skills are highly desirable.
- Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Outlook, and Teams.
