About the role#
As an Applications Engineer Intern, you will work with our Applications team to build skills for a career in the machinery industry. You will use 2D and 3D modeling software and operate manufacturing equipment. You will help develop processes to improve customer production through analysis and demonstrations. This is a paid, full-time, on-site internship based in Elk Grove Village, Illinois.
What you'll do#
- Use CAD/CAM software to render machine parts for programming.
- Learn how to program and operate our machines.
- Support the sales process and learn demonstration procedures.
- Maintain the showroom by cleaning machines to prepare them for customer visits.
- Handle other tasks as assigned.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in an Associate or Bachelor degree program in Manufacturing Technology, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- Basic CNC programming skills.
- Proficiency with Windows operating systems.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- A high level of customer service.
- Attention to detail and good organizational habits.
- Ability to work well in a team environment.

- Work Modality: On-site.
- This role involves working near moving mechanical parts in an environment with moderate to loud noise levels. Physical requirements include frequent standing, bending, and lifting up to 50 pounds.
